COCOA — Call it the little school that could — shop, that is. St. Mark’s Episcopal Academy, a private school in Cocoa Village with fewer than 100 students, recently won the $5,000 grand prize in Merritt Square Mall’s annual “Earning for Learning” contest.
Twenty-five Brevard County schools participated in the monthlong contest that ended Sept. 15. Schools racked up points based on the dollar value of receipts turned in to the mall’s customer service counter.
Robertson said the prize money will go to the school’s classroom technology fund, most likely to purchase a Promethean Activboard, an interactive white board with Internet connectivity.
